Automagical Forms Help Center

Learn how to instantly turn your PDFs and documents into Google Forms using our AI magic.

Getting Started

What is Automagical Forms?

It's a tool that takes documents like PDFs or Google Docs and instantly converts them into a functional Google Form, saving you from typing questions manually.

How do I access it?

You can find Automagical Forms in your Google Drive sidebar. Look for the icon with the purple unicorn.

Does it work with PDFs?

Yes! You can upload pre-existing questionnaires, quizzes, or intake forms in PDF format.

Does it work with Google Docs?

Yes! You can use Google Docs that have questions written in them, or plain content.

What are the two main modes?

1. "Automagically": Extract existing questions from a file.
2. "Unicorn AI Creator": Generate new questions from study material.

Is it really one click?

Pretty much! Once you open the sidebar and select your file, you just hit "Automagically" or "Create" to start the process.

Do I need to type manually?

No. The goal of the app is to avoid the "manual route" of writing each question into a Google Form one by one.

Where is the Sidebar?

In Google Drive, look to the right side of your screen. If installed, the Automagical Forms logo (purple unicorn) will be there.

Extracting Questions (Automagically)

How do I extract questions?

Open a file that already has questions in it (like a quiz PDF) and click the button that says "Automagically".

Can I review questions first?

Yes. The app will find the questions and show them to you in the sidebar before the Google Form is actually created.

How do I finalize the form?

If the extracted questions look accurate in the preview, simply hit the Create Google Form button.

What if it missed questions?

If the AI didn't find the questions accurately the first time, click the Try Again button.

What does "Try Again" do?

It runs a new AI model on your document to see if a different algorithm performs better at finding your specific questions.

How many times can I retry?

You can use the "Try Again" feature up to two more times per document if the first attempt wasn't perfect.

Does it work on Images/Scans?

Automagical Forms uses OCR to read text from PDFs, so it works well on most clear documents.

Does it copy images from the PDF?

Yes, if your quiz questions have images attached to them, the tool attempts to extract and place them in the Form.

Generating New Questions (AI Creator)

Can it create NEW questions?

Yes! You can upload a document of study content (like a Wikipedia page or notes) and the AI will generate questions for you.

How do I start generating?

Select a file with content (e.g., a history lesson) and click Go Unicorn AI Creator.

Can I choose the difficulty?

Yes, you can tailor the generated questions by selecting a specific Difficulty Level.

Can I choose question types?

Absolutely. You can specify the Type of Questions (e.g., Multiple Choice) you want the AI to create.

Can I choose how many questions?

Yes, you can set the exact Number of Questions you want generated based on the content.

What is the "Fox" example?

In our demo, we use a PDF of the Wikipedia page for a "Fox" to show how easily the AI can read an article and create a quiz about it.

Advanced Features & Google Docs

Does it support Answer Keys?

Yes! Especially when using Google Docs, you can pre-mark correct answers.

How to mark answers in Docs?

In your Google Doc, simply type (correct) next to the right answer choice.

Does the Form know the answer?

Yes. If you use the (correct) tag, Automagical Forms will automatically flag that option as the correct answer in the generated Google Form quiz.

Can I export to Canvas?

Yes. At every step of the way, you have the option to Export to Canvas / QTI format.

Can I upload to an LMS?

Using the Canvas export feature, you can generate files compatible with many LMS platforms that support QTI uploads.
